Tourism presents the top ten tourist destinations in Tamaulipas

The State Tourism Secretariat announced the top ten tourist destinations in the state, places where the greatest influx of local, national and foreign visitors is recorded, as well as the economic impact generated during their stay.

Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism in Tamaulipas, highlighted that in the figures from January to August 2024, Playa Miramar in Ciudad Madero is the jewel in the crown, leading the list with more than 2.3 million visitors and an economic impact of more than 2.1 billion pesos.

In second place is Tampico with more than one million visitors and an economic impact of more than 800 million pesos. In third place, the magical town of Tula, the birthplace of the Tamaulipas leather with its crafts, enchiladas tultecas, among other riches, with more than 400 thousand visitors and an impact of more than 213 million pesos.

In fourth place, Altamira with more than 231 thousand visitors and an income of more than 200 million pesos. In fifth place, the capital of Tamaulipas, Ciudad Victoria, with its Tamux Museum, the Tamatán zoo, a municipality that now has the name of Magical Neighborhood and that has received more than 200 thousand visitors, who have left an income of more than 175 million pesos.

The sixth place is for Bagdad beach in Matamoros with more than 192 thousand visitors who have left an economic income of more than 173 million pesos.

Seventh place, La Pesca in Soto la Marina with more than 145 thousand visitors and an income of more than 130 million. Nuevo Laredo in eighth place registered more than 95 thousand visitors and an income of more than 81 million pesos.

In ninth place, Barra del Tordo in Aldama with more than 56 thousand visitors and an economic income of more than 50 million pesos.

And Jaumave rounds out the top ten with more than 38 thousand visitors and a turnover of more than 20 million pesos, he concluded.
