The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, celebrated on social media the recent recognition of three islands from the state in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2024. Holbox, Isla Mujeres, and Cozumel were chosen as the best islands in the “Rest of North America” category.
In her post, Mara Lezama highlighted that these islands are true treasures of the Mexican Caribbean, attracting tourists from all over the world with their natural beauty and rich biodiversity. “These islands shine globally and represent the best that Quintana Roo has to offer,” wrote the governor.
