Armed attack leaves 2 dead and eight injured in Baja California

Two people were killed and eight were injured in an armed attack that occurred early Sunday morning near a farm located in Valle de la Trinidad, Ensenada, Baja California.

So far, it is unknown how the events occurred, but authorities reported that they were alerted through a call to the C4 emergency system, reporting gunshots in the area.

The Municipal Public Security Directorate confirmed that after receiving the report, a coordinated operation was implemented with the State Attorney General’s Office, the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) and other security corporations.

Upon arriving at the scene, located at kilometer 118 of the Ensenada-San Felipe highway, they found two Tahoe-type vehicles, one black and one gold, with multiple bullet impacts.

A short distance away, at kilometer 119, the authorities located an unconscious man, then paramedics confirmed that he had died from gunshot wounds.

Then a minor, aged 17, arrived on his own to the Valle de la Trinidad delegation with wounds caused by shrapnel, presumably the result of the gunshots. He was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

It was later reported that three men wounded by bullet impacts were taken to the General Hospital of Ensenada, while three women with wounds related to the same incident.

Another man, wounded by a firearm, arrived at the delegation in recent hours and is being evaluated by the medical services.

Authorities seized three long weapons and three vehicles at the scene of the attack, while the investigation continues by the FGE.
