Querétaro on high alert due to violence in neighboring states

Querétaro remains on high alert, 24 hours a day, due to the high levels of violence that exist in several entities in the country, said Governor Mauricio Kuri González, after having attended this Saturday to listen to the message of the municipal president, Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera at the Civic Center.

“We know that many people come, who come from outside to commit criminal acts in the state, and that is why we are constantly on high alert 24 hours a day. It remains one hundred percent, because the situation in the country does not merit less,” he said.

Macías restructures security model

Regarding his visit to Irapuato at the inauguration of General Maximiliano Cruz as the new commander of the XII Military Region, Mauricio Kuri said that they spoke about some aspects of security, where it was mentioned to him that the state of Querétaro deserves different treatment from the rest of other entities in this area of the center of the country.

“He himself says it, the issue of Querétaro has to be treated in a different way than the other two states that he manages, which are Michoacán and Guanajuato. He says that we are living a different reality, that we have to take great care of it and that we have to continue working as we have been doing,” said the head of the state Executive.

He assured that there is very good coordination with the general of the 17th Military Zone, Vinicio Perea Alcaraz, so it is in his interest to maintain this way of working with that government agency, as well as with the National Guard.

This week, the governor indicated that guaranteeing the security of the population is the main challenge that a state must have, which he emphasized at the start of his fourth year of government. He made reference to the results that emerged from the meeting held in Washington with authorities from the Agency of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Kuri González added that a historic investment has been made in terms of security, which, he pointed out, has contributed to reducing insecurity rates despite population growth, which, from his perspective, is a hard job that has to be done every day.

STRATEGIC COURSE

It was mentioned that, by instruction of the governor, Mauricio Kuri González, the induction workshop on the Security Strategy convened by the State Security Council was held, in which security directors and secretaries participated, accompanied by heads of prevention areas and civic judges from the 18 municipalities.

The information reveals that the induction workshop aimed to socialize the organizational structure, the constitutional and legal regulations that govern the State Security System, as well as the strategy embodied in the State Security Program 2022-2027, an instrument published on May 20, 2022 in the Official Newspaper La Sombra de Arteaga.

Likewise, some programs that are being implemented were discussed, such as: the State Open Security System, the State Police Integrity Program, the State Civic Justice System, the Health Program for Municipal Police, and the Accusatory Criminal Justice Model.

The State Security Council, by mandate of the local Constitution, has the highest responsibility to dictate and define public policy on security in the state, so it is through this type of initiatives that coordination and teamwork will be maintained with all authorities at the three levels to continue defending Querétaro.
