Violence in Sinaloa leaves 155 dead and 171 people deprived of liberty in 28 days

During the twenty-eight days of violence experienced with the greatest intensity in the municipalities of Culiacán, Concordia, Elota and San Ignacio, the total number of people killed rose to one hundred and fifty-five, including a woman and the president of the Union Ganadera de Sinaloa, Faustino Hernández Álvarez.

As part of the crime statistics for this day of confrontations and executions, the State Attorney General’s Office has registered a total of 238 complaints for violent theft of vehicles of various makes and models and the deprivation of liberty of 171 people, including municipal and state public employees.

This accounting does not include the possible victims registered in a recent confrontation between elements of the army and armed civilians, in the towns of El Batel and El Potrerillo, in the municipality of Concordia, in which a helicopter armed with weapons of the federal forces intervened, but due to the location of the events, the outcome is not known.

The State Public Security Secretariat only announced that during a surveillance tour, military personnel were attacked by an armed group, so they responded to the aggression and requested air support, although the results of the events are not known.

In the most recent events, it was reported that in a casino, located on Emiliano Zapata Boulevard, in the Lomas del Boulevard neighborhood, armed civilians kidnapped two male persons, whose identities are not known.

On Tuesday, September 30, in the Parque la Alameda subdivision of the Tres Ríos Urban Development, armed civilians murdered Faustino Hernández Álvarez, president of the Regional Livestock Union of Sinaloa and his assistant, Jesús “N”.
