Get to know the calendar of All Saints’ Day festivities

Don’t miss this Saturday the start of the Traditional Festivals of the Magical Town of Todos Santos.

An event that no one should miss is the Traditional Festivals of Todos Santos which are celebrated every year on October 12 and is one of the 4 most popular festivals that take place in the year. The others are the Art Festival that takes place in February with local and foreign artists; the Reggae Festival in the same month but on San Pedrito beach and at the end of November and December the Todos Santos Film Festival.

That is why this Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6 to kick off the festivities a fishing tournament was organized; on Monday October 7 the 46th anniversary of Culture will be celebrated with cultural activities; on Thursday October 10 the Queen of the festivities will be crowned with the presentation of artistic and cultural numbers with the participation of modern and folkloric dance groups, singers, musicians.

On Friday, October 11, the event will begin with the morning songs to Nuestra Señora del Pilar, followed by cultural and musical activities with the participation of the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura, Euforia Dance Crew, and the Baile Popular Herederos del Pacífico, the northern group CK; on Saturday, October 12, the Civic Ceremony Encuentro de Dos Mundos will take place, the Ribbon Cutting of the Communal Fair.

Also, the Puesto Hermoso Contest, the participation of the singer Alicia Kakogui, the singer Arturo Garay, Grupo Reactivo; Baile Popular Grupo Elite, Baile Popular Grupo Casta and on Sunday, October 13, a parade will begin. It is important to remember that Todos Santos joined the Magical Towns of Mexico Program in 2006, a place that attracts not only for its climate but for its beauty and history.

The Todos Santos Mission was founded thanks to a contribution from Rosa de la Peña, cousin of the Marquis of Villapuente in 1733 by the Jesuit priest and missionary Segismundo Taraval. The original name was Mission of Santa Rosa de la Bahía de las Palmas, a place that had begun as a chapel built by the missionary Jaime Bravo in 1723. With the donation it was raised to become the Mission of Our Lady of Pilar de Todos Santos.
