Social media accounts offering the sale of driver’s licenses, which feature distinctive elements of the SSC.
Through an official statement, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported the detection of possible frauds in the municipality of Solidaridad, involving the alleged commercialization of supposed driver’s licenses issued by this agency on social media groups and accounts.
According to the statement, social media accounts are offering the sale of driver’s licenses featuring distinctive elements of the SSC. However, since January of this year, the Institute of Mobility of the State of Quintana Roo (Imoveqroo) is the only entity authorized to issue these driver’s licenses.
Additionally, the Secretariat reiterated that the process to obtain this document is personal and must be done directly at the offices of the mentioned Institute, not through third parties or sold on social media.
In light of this situation, the SSC released photos of the fake driver’s licenses that have been displayed on internet pages, emphasizing that this type of commercialization constitutes a criminal act.
