Alesica, a mezcal cream from Aguascalientes that conquers palates

Alesica Cremas de Mezcal

Alesica’s story begins in 2018, when Alejandra did her social service for two years with maguey producers. This experience was very enriching for her, as she worked in several municipalities in Aguascalientes, especially with those in the process of obtaining the designation of origin for mezcal.

Later, Alejandra joined the Mezcal Women’s Association, but decided not to stay as just another member, but also to venture into the business of being a producer. Her family is dedicated to livestock, but she had always wanted to add value to the activities carried out at home to earn income. That’s how she combined dairy products with mezcal, giving rise to Alesica, the first brand of mezcal cream in the state.

“From that moment on, the product began to gain recognition,” said Alejandra. Alesica was part of the fifth generation of companies certified by the Hecho en Aguascalientes program, which allowed them to participate in the emblematic San Marcos Fair, an event that marked a before and after for the company.

“It was a real success,” explained Alejandra, “we had just perfected the formula and the impact on the fair was incredible.” Although other exhibitors complained about low sales in certain areas of the event, Alesica did not stop selling. Customers walked around the place and, at the end, returned to buy their products, even on days with less traffic like Mondays and Tuesdays. Alejandra highlights that many of their buyers were tourists who, before leaving, returned to buy the mezcal cream, which motivated them to continue with production.

Today, Alesica has four presentations of different sizes, from the smallest to an option to share, as well as six different flavors. The design of its bottles reflects a feminine essence, since the product is mainly aimed at a female audience.

Thanks to the growing demand, Alesica has formed strategic alliances with the Casa de las Artesanías, near the San Marcos Garden, as well as with gift shops, which decorate their bottles as gifts. They have also collaborated with beauty centers, integrating their product into packages designed to pamper clients.
