Baja California, Hidalgo, and Nuevo León lead industrial growth in the country

According to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF) presented by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in June 2024, the states that showed the greatest monthly growth in their industrial activity were: Baja California, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Morelos and Coahuila.

On the other hand, the entities that registered the most significant increases in their industrial production, in real terms, were: Zacatecas, Oaxaca, Durango, Veracruz, Morelos and San Luis Potosí.

While in the mining sector, increases stood out in Zacatecas, Jalisco, Yucatán, Veracruz and Mexico City. In generation, transmission, distribution and marketing of electric energy, water supply and natural gas through pipelines to the final consumer, increases stood out in Baja California, Sinaloa, Guanajuato, Yucatán and Sonora.

In the construction sector, increases were recorded in Durango, Tlaxcala, Nuevo León, Coahuila and Puebla. In manufacturing industries, the greatest advances were recorded in Oaxaca, Morelos, Sonora, San Luis Potosí and Quintana Roo.

For the compilation of the IMAIEF, the most recent statistical information from economic surveys, statistics from the mining and metallurgical industry, and administrative records provided by various entities, including data on oil and energy activities, were used. This information reflects the dynamism and variability of industrial activity in Mexico, highlighting the key role of various federal entities in different sectors.
