The state of Nayarit will be invited to the Baja Culinary Fest

From October 16 to 19, Tijuana will host the eleventh edition of the Baja Culinary Fest, with Nayarit as the guest state, offering a sample of its regional gastronomy.

The festival, created by chef Javier Plascencia, chef Miguel Ángel Guerrero and Javier González, director of Art Culinary School, aims to spread the culinary wealth of Baja California on a global level.

“This project was born with the dream of positioning our gastronomy in the world,” said Marina Pérez Rodríguez, founding partner of the event.

On October 16, 17 and 18, restaurants in the city will host dinners prepared by guest chefs from Baja California and Nayarit.

On October 19, in the morning, a state culinary contest will be held at Culinary Art School, with cooking and pastry categories, both at the professional and student level.

That same day, starting at 1:00 p.m., the Tijuana Hippodrome will be the setting for the gastronomic exhibition, where more than 40 restaurants, 20 wineries and various workshops will offer tastings and activities.

“It will be a family atmosphere to enjoy food, wine, craft beer and have a good time,” said Zaira López, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) Tijuana.
