Zihuatanejo has 95 confirmed cases of dengue and 100 probable cases: Health

The municipal Health Director, Nieves Elizabeth Manzo Nava, reported that in this city there are 95 confirmed cases of dengue and 100 probable cases.

In an interview, Manzo Nava explained that this is data provided by the Health Jurisdiction number 5 that covers all the municipalities of the Costa Grande region.

She added that where most cases occur are: Colonia Centro, Nuevo Amanecer, El Embalse, Los Pinos, 24 de Abril, Darío Galeana and Vicente Guerrero.

Regarding this, she indicated that the municipality has taken some actions such as coordinating with the leaders of the colonies to begin with the removal of junk.

“Since we remember that such action is the most important and for which we ask the neighbors for help to wash, turn over and cover, as well as throw away the junk that they no longer use and that can store water and transmit dengue,” she said.

Loudspeakers have also been made in these areas to encourage and insist that neighbors join in these junk removal actions by keeping their homes and yards clean, since the vector that transmits dengue is not found in puddles, but inside the house in dark and humid areas that can store water.
