From Durango, 4 of the 11 executed in Ojinaga

De Durango, 4 de los 11 ejecutados en Ojinaga

Four of the eleven executed in the attacks in the municipality of Ojinaga were originally from Durango, reported the Directorate of Forensic Services and Sciences of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

Authorities reported that the victims are: Víctor Manuel L.G., 26 years old; José Salvador E.R., Rosendo Renato O.R., and José Luis C.C., who was recently identified.

Prior to that, the directorate also reported that the bodies correspond to Sixto B.C., 43 years old, who was originally from the capital. The cause of death was heart failure and the body has already been delivered to his relatives.

Among the other murdered are Martín Alonso I. M., 19 years old and Irving M.S., 29, both decapitated.

In addition, Carlos Alejandro M. G., 23, who died of acute anemia caused by a gunshot wound, and Roberto B.G., 29, who died after being hanged, are also added to the list, while two others remain unidentified.

The bodies were found next to a narco-banner in which the criminal group that claimed the crime points out the victims as traitors, for supposedly being part of another group led by a person named Roberto.

“Here I leave you this Roberto, you see that the square was empty and you were the one who controlled it. You went to Durango and you abandoned them in the end, but here I am gathering them for you (sic),” says the text of the message left on a white cloth with blue letters.

“Remember that you will always be a TRAITOR here and there. Apart from being a traitor, a LIAR. Don’t get involved, people, because that’s how everyone who follows this idiot’s lead will end up,” he added. “PS. You sent word that they’ll let us fight alone. Don’t open your mouth just because you have to. Go to Durango again and send more people, IDIOT.”

Unofficial sources from security corporations reported that “El Menchaca,” leader of La Línea in Ojinaga, expelled “El 04” from the group, along with 10 other members, and shortly after, in August of last year, the capo turned himself in to the United States authorities, in Presidio, Texas.

With his capture, the leadership of the group was assumed by his brother, known as “El Menchaquita”, however, the former ally, Roberto G. H., became a rival by recruiting hitmen who work for “Los Cabrera”, main operators of the Sinaloa Cartel in the state of Durango, with the intention of taking control of the Ojinaga plaza and other surrounding municipalities where “La Línea” also dominates.

Last Sunday, September 8, a raid by “El 04” in Ojinaga, Manuel Benavides and Coyame unleashed various confrontations that left six people dead and one municipal agent wounded. Four victims were found in Ojinaga, two in Manuel Benavides, while the injured element was treated in Coyame.

Although seven men were arrested days later during operations carried out by federal and state authorities, only four were brought to trial, since a Control Judge determined that the detention of three of them was not legal, so they were released.
