Armed Man Robs Woman After Leaving Bank with 130,000 Pesos in Tulum

A man used a weapon to rob a woman and steal cash on Tulum Boulevard.

The increase in insecurity in Tulum became evident again after a robbery occurred in front of the Boxito store, located on Tulum Boulevard. The incident happened when a woman, who had just withdrawn 130,000 pesos from a bank branch, was attacked by an armed individual as she was getting out of her vehicle.

According to reports, the assailant, who was wearing a helmet, pointed a gun at the victim and snatched a bag containing the money.

Despite the proximity of a Public Security booth in the area, which had previously been implicated in extorting motorists, the authorities’ response was delayed, allowing the criminals to escape without being apprehended.
