46-Year-Old Canadian Takes His Own Life in Tulum

A 46-year-old Canadian man was found dead in the Riviera neighborhood of Tulum, in what appears to be a suicide by hanging.

The incident was reported around 7:14 AM to the C4 emergency number. A visibly distressed woman reported that her boyfriend was unconscious. Initially, she indicated that a minor was involved, but later clarified that it was her Canadian partner who was unresponsive.

The call was abruptly cut off due to the woman’s nervous state but was resumed minutes later. Upon arriving at the scene, located at the intersection of Chicozapote and Palma streets in the Riviera Tulum neighborhood, police officers confirmed the situation and requested medical assistance.

Personnel from the SAVI-11 medical unit arrived to assess the man, identified as Schwingenschlegel Bline, 46, who no longer showed vital signs.

The cause of death was determined to be suicide by hanging, according to statements from his wife, who found him hanging upon arriving home. The Investigation Police (PDI) took control of the scene to conduct the necessary investigations.
