Marijuana Found Scattered on the Street in Campeche

A fight inside a house on Solidaridad Nacional Avenue in Campeche led to marijuana being scattered on the street, which was detected by neighbors.

A significant police and military mobilization were recorded early this Friday morning after a large concentration of a substance resembling marijuana was detected in a public area, prompting security authorities to take note of the incident.

The events occurred around midnight this Friday, specifically on Solidaridad Nacional Avenue between Chiapas and San Luis Potosí streets, when an incident of aggression was reported in a house located in the mentioned area.

It happened when two people living in the same house began to have a heated argument, to the point where a woman decided to “throw out” one of her sons from the house, taking several of his belongings to throw them onto the street to make him leave the property.

When the woman took one of the bags to throw it onto the street, it broke, spilling its contents onto the public road. The strong aroma led those involved to leave the contents on the sidewalk and the asphalt.

Due to the strong smell of the substance spilled on the public road, neighbors living in nearby areas, as well as pedestrians who saw the dry herb with the smell and characteristics of marijuana, moved away from the area and alerted the security authorities.

They notified the emergency numbers, and through the Control, Command, Communications, and Computing Center (C-5), requested the presence of elements from the Secretariat of Protection and Citizen Security (SPSC) to take note of the incident.

The first to arrive were elements of the Preventive State Police (PEP), who took note of the incident, cordoned off the area to prevent “curious” people from approaching, and notified the State Attorney General’s Office of Campeche (Fgecam) to secure the area.
