Downtown Business in Merida Evicted for Not Paying Rent

A commercial establishment in the downtown area was evicted this morning by court order, due to the occupants’ failure to pay rent.

The property at 532 on 62nd Street with 67th in the downtown area was evicted with the support of public force, a state judicial officer, and the legal representatives of the owners.

The owners’ lawyer indicated that the house was intestate, but the tenants refused to pay and vacate.

The occupants of the property had no choice but to comply with the court order, so they began to remove all the merchandise, which was loaded onto a truck.

Elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) remained vigilant during the proceedings, which attracted the attention of passersby.

The property in question includes at least three businesses, whose owners have already been notified to vacate the premises as soon as possible.
