The route of the Catrinas and Catrines Parade in Querétaro will be extended

The traditional Querétaro Catrinas and Catrines Parade will have a longer route in 2024, reported Gloria García Alcocer, head of the Patronato de las Fiestas del Estado. The Day of the Dead festivities will start on October 20 and will run until November 2, with various activities, among which this extension stands out, similar to that of the Christmas parade.

The parade will take place on Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. Due to the growing interest and the increase in attendees in recent years, the route will be longer and will have a greater participation of catrinas and catrines. This year, there will be two sections: a column of participants dressed as catrinas and catrines, and a contingent in honor of the Querétaro photographer Rosalío Solano Quintana, originally from Bernal, who immortalized great idols of Mexican cinema.

In his memory, five floats inspired by iconic films that Solano photographed will be displayed. The route will start on Corregidora Avenue, corner with José María Morelos, and will continue along Independencia, José María Pino Suárez, Ezequiel Montes and will conclude on Hidalgo Street, arriving at the corner of Ángela Peralta and Corregidora. In addition to the parade, the Festival will include the seminar “Between Life and Death,” with conferences and workshops from October 21 to November 1.

To close the festivities, a street parade with band music will be held on November 2, starting from Plaza Fundadores and ending in Jardín Guerrero. The authorities have called on attendees to follow the instructions of public safety, mobility and Civil Protection to guarantee a safe and orderly event.
