The Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), Puebla chapter, will propose to the Angelopolis City Council that the city be promoted as a destination for the installation of corporate offices of companies from the center-south of the country.

Alejandro Muñoz Muratalla, president of the organization, said that in the last five years, better buildings have been built, which have been attractive for companies from Mexico City and the north of the country, which wish to have a greater presence in the region.

He said that there is still 50% availability of spaces to receive companies. Around 20 corporations have been installed in Angelopolis and they belong to the automotive, technological and food sectors.

He indicated that the geographical position of the state has attracted the attention of companies to install corporate offices and, with this, be able to have a closer relationship with their clients from the south-southeast and make the control of their logistic activities more efficient.

He told El Economista that the incoming municipal government, on October 15, should consider this possibility as an option to also attract investments and generate permanent jobs in the administrative part.

“There are office buildings that were built to offer better services and large companies are the first to occupy them, including foreign ones,” he said.

Muñoz Muratalla considered that AMPI, through its national network, can carry out this promotion that will help to have less vacancy in spaces and, with this, developers of corporate buildings also consider detonating more office complexes.

In the Historic Center, offices are being modernized

At the same time, he stressed, it can encourage the owners of properties in the Historic Center to reinvest in modernizing them, “because there will be companies that want to return to the first square of the city to operate.”

The leader of AMPI said that companies that prefer the center to going to the outskirts of the city, where it is twice as expensive to rent, is due to the fact that it is less complicated for their clients.

He said that there is still space available for the next seven years, so some developers take this situation into account when carrying out projects.

However, he explained that the composition of office rentals has changed, since now 70% corresponds to fixed spaces and the rest to operations through hybrid and coworking modalities.
