From today Tecopilco celebrates its patron saint San Lucas

The Catholic community of the municipality of Tecopilco is celebrating its patron Saint Luke the Evangelist with the traditional “Mañanitas” that will begin on Thursday night and will extend until dawn on Friday.

In this way, it will be from 8:00 p.m. when the party music begins to sound in the atrium of the parish located in the center of the town.

From that moment until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow Friday, the musical celebration will be a wake-up call for the parishioners of that region of the state, which has just over three thousand inhabitants.

The mass in honor of the saint, author of the third gospel and the Acts of the Apostles, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18 and officiated by the parish priest Hugo de la Rosa Flores, then, at night, there will be the burning of bulls.

This Friday, the community of San Lucas Tecopilco will be the host to receive pilgrims from various communities of Tlaxcala with the arrival of images at nine in the morning.

Later, at 11:00 a.m., the tour of the images through the streets of Cuauhtémoc, Matamoros, Juárez, Adolfo López Mateos and Niños Héroes is scheduled.

Religious activities will continue until Sunday, October 20 with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the bishop of Tlaxcala, Julio César Salcedo Aquino, who will impart the sacrament of first communion and confirmations.

Likewise, the steward Refugio Pérez Barrios reported that they will present a pyromusical show from 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and close on Monday, October 21 with the consummation mass through the four neighborhoods at 11:00 a.m.

The festivities of Saint Luke the Evangelist also include pagan events organised by the Municipal Council in the so-called “Mole Fair”, which ends on Monday, October 21.
