Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo prepares for its first charter flight

The season of charter flights from Canada will be brought forward this year, starting at the end of October, reported the executive director of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV), Pedro Castelán Reina, stating that with them comes a considerable influx of vacationers for the following weeks.

Castelán mentioned that the first charter flight from Calgary will arrive on October 27, followed by a second flight from Vancouver on October 28.

This advance marks the beginning of the winter vacation season in the Magic Town, generating great expectations for the arrival of tourists, mainly from Canada and the United States.

The director of the OCV highlighted that this foreign tourism, which includes both repeat visitors and new tourists attracted by recommendations on digital platforms and word of mouth, will bring with it an important economic spillover for the tourist service providers of the destination.

He also pointed out that Saturdays will play a crucial role this season, as various international connections are expected, with planes that will transport a good number of passengers, which will further consolidate the attractiveness of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo beach combination as a preferred destination for international tourists.
