Due to the landslide that occurred since last Tuesday night on the San Cristóbal de Las Casas-Teopisca route, at the height of the Nuevo Jardín community, vehicle traffic was suspended on the night of Thursday, October 17, due to the risk posed by the continued falling of earth and rocks.
In this regard, Civil Protection personnel reported that due to the closure of this federal highway, motorists are being diverted to an alternate route in the Escobillal area, where only small, compact vehicles are allowed to circulate. Trucks are not permitted due to the dimensions of the road.
