Violencia en Sinaloa: Levantan a repartidor de periódico El Debate en Culiacán

The newspaper El Debate reported the illegal deprivation of a company deliveryman, which occurred this morning by an armed group in the capital of Sinaloa. The state-run media outlet suffered two attacks recently, the first on the night of Thursday 17th with gunshots fired at its offices in Culiacán and a second in the early hours of Friday 18th when a subject left a toy gun at the entrance of its offices in Guasave, a municipality in the north of the state.

According to the newspaper, the deliveryman was allegedly chased by an armed group in the streets of downtown Culiacán, knocked off his motorcycle, however he managed to take shelter in an establishment in the area.

After the event was reported, the worker was taken along with his family and another colleague to the Red Cross to receive treatment for injuries suffered after falling off his motorcycle.

According to Debate, after receiving first aid from the Red Cross, he had to be transferred to an IMSS hospital for further evaluation, but on the way the same armed group caught up with them and took him away by force around 6 a.m.

In Sinaloa, violence continues to hit Culiacán, especially, after the start of a dispute between factions of organized crime, which as of October 15 has left 209 forced disappearances and

172 intentional homicides, according to figures from the local Prosecutor’s Office.
