There are talks with 16 companies interested in investing in Durango: EVV

Se prevé impulsar el potencial de los jóvenes en proyectos de Inteligencia Artificial.

Before the end of the year, negotiations are expected to be closed with at least one large company that is interested in setting up in Durango, reported Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal.

He explained that, with the Artificial Intelligence project that began on Tuesday, a Development and Technology Center with Artificial Intelligence will be created and, in the first instance, 50 young people will be trained who will go to Spain with the company Drotium.

“It is the only concept in the entire country and in Latin America; remember that a few months ago Drotium came, which is the one that starts with this Artificial Intelligence strategy. They already live in Durango, they chose these 50 young people who will go in teams to be trained,” he said.

He also said that Fermaca will invest 62 billion pesos in Durango, in addition to the fact that it is expected that this AI project will also promote the installation of other companies that have shown interest, in addition to the 32 that have already been announced. “This will help us close some of the companies we have brought in, and I hope, God willing, that we can announce them before the end of the year (…) I hope that with one more, really big, very big, we can close the year. Hopefully we can do more, we have several, right now we are talking with 16,” he mentioned.

Also, a team of 32 companies of Chinese origin arrived in Durango that were not contemplated, but that have shown interest in investing. They are from different sectors such as automobiles, sensors, semiconductors and even agroindustry.

Therefore, it is expected that the year can close with the creation of more jobs than those announced in the report.

He also emphasized that with these efforts, it is sought that young people no longer have to go to other states or countries in search of opportunities, because they did not find work in their hometown.
