Rains keep indigenous community isolated

Residents of the “Canaan” colony belonging to the municipality of Figueroa and located in the northwest area of this valley, contacted this media outlet by phone to inform us that for days the rain in that area has not stopped and as a result, a hill broke off, blocking the entire road and they are practically cut off.
The reporters say that the most affected area is near a bridge known as Ron Ron, yesterday they tried to remove some mud that was on the road with the help of shovels and crowbars, but there is a lot, so they ask the Civil Protection personnel to go help them to make the task easier.
It is worth mentioning that this indigenous and Tzotzil-speaking town is located a little further ahead of the General Rafael Calymayor colony, it is an area in dispute between the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca, the inhabitants assure that they do not have electricity and do not receive any type of government support.
In this context, they ask that some official department please move up to that location to help clear the way.
