In an event led by the governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, and the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Renacimiento Maya scholarship was launched. This initiative aims to support 10,000 university students in the state, who will receive a bimonthly support of 3,000 pesos.
According to a statement from the Government of Yucatán, the Renacimiento Maya scholarship, which is part of the Renacimiento Maya program, seeks to benefit young people in cities where the federal scholarship does not apply, thus guaranteeing greater educational opportunities.
Students will receive the Felipe Carrillo Puerto card, through which the support will be delivered bimonthly. During the event, Díaz Mena also highlighted the construction of the University of the Sea, with the goal of expanding educational offerings in the region, along with other actions focused on promoting education and social welfare in Yucatán.
The Renacimiento Maya scholarship is one of several programs announced as part of a joint strategy between the state and federal governments to improve living conditions in Yucatán.
