“Tlaxcala, the Fair of Fairs 2024″ Begins Today, with Over 400 Events for the Whole Family

With over 400 events, authorities aim for attendees to enjoy a family celebration filled with tradition that strengthens the identity of the people of Tlaxcala.

With the sale of handicrafts, food, drinks, sweets, and typical dishes, and the installation of mechanical rides that this year will feature the presence of the viral TikTok Nun, state authorities want both locals and visitors to enjoy a family celebration full of tradition, which will help strengthen the values and identity of the people of Tlaxcala.

The various activities of “Tlaxcala, the Fair of Fairs 2024” officially begin this afternoon with the inauguration scheduled for 1:00 PM. In the afternoon, starting at 4:00 PM, the traditional parade will take place on the main streets of the capital, Tlaxcala, with the theme of the Day of All Saints.

In addition to various activities such as folkloric ballets, huehue groups, mariachis, popular dances, and the performance of Nelly Lara, today will mark the opening of activities at the Teatro de Pueblo with a performance by Los Ángeles Azules, the first completely free artistic event.

THE ACTIVITIES

On October 29, starting at 7:00 PM, the parade and contest of catrinas are scheduled; the fair bullfights will be held at the Jorge “El Ranchero” Aguilar bullring in the capital on October 26, and on November 2, 9, and 16, featuring prominent matadors such as Angelino de Arriaga, Uriel Moreno “El Zapata,” Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, and Antonio Ferrera.

At the fair, people will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the Expo 2024 stands at the Convention Center, where local artisans and producers will offer their creations. At the fairgrounds, attendees can enjoy puppet shows, Papantla flyers, clown shows, an interactive fair with living statues, parades, batucadas, stilt walkers, mojigangas, catrines, and large-scale dinosaurs.

On November 12, at 4:30 PM, the lobby of the Tlaxcala Convention Center will host the first crawling contest; on November 13, the charro arena will host the mascot contest starting at 6:00 PM; the traditional Mole Festival will be on November 2, and the Corn Festival on November 5.

The Pulque Festival will be held on October 26 and 27 at the fairgrounds dome; the Charro Tournament will take place on November 16; on November 13, starting at 4:00 PM at the Teatro de Pueblo, the anniversary dance of Radio Tlaxcala will be held, and on November 15, starting at 2:00 PM, the Paella Festival will feature 40 paella chefs, with live music by Mijares. On November 17, at 5:00 PM, the first national danzón contest will be held at the Expo Center.

Admission to the fairgrounds costs 10 pesos but is free for children (under 1.20 meters tall), seniors, and people with disabilities. Mechanical rides will be free for preschool and primary school children, with prior coordination with the Patronato, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Every Wednesday, there will be a 2-for-1 ticket offer for these attractions.
