Tulum, Mexico, continues to position itself as a key destination for golf tourism thanks to the recent media activation at Tulum International Airport, known as the ‘Jungle Airport.’
This strategy coincides with the celebration of National Golf Lovers Day, an event held annually in October. On October 18, the airport was the scene of a series of recreational activities designed to capture the attention of golf enthusiasts and generate new fans of the sport among travelers of all ages.
These interactive activities were organized by the team of professionals from the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club, located at the Tulum Country Club, which has been nominated as one of the best golf courses in Mexico by the World Travel Awards (WTA).
Sergio González, Deputy Director of Golf at PGA Riviera Maya, commented that “having a world-class airport in Tulum allows us to offer an unparalleled golf experience to our visitors. This privileged access attracts not only players from the United States and Mexico but also from all over Latin America and soon Europe, consolidating Tulum as a leading destination in sports tourism.”
The combination of an international airport, the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club, and the promotion strategy under the Visit Tulum brand, supported by the Tulum City Council, has been fundamental in boosting the golf tourism product. This synergy not only encourages the influx of travelers but also strengthens Tulum’s visibility at international fairs and promotional campaigns on digital platforms.
With these initiatives, Tulum continues to bet on the development of new tourist experiences that not only include golf but also promote family vacations, making the destination a versatile and attractive place for everyone.
