Colima announces new air connection between Atlanta and Manzanillo

The Government of the State of Colima, through the Undersecretary of Tourism and the State Trust for Tourism Promotion (FIDETUR), held a successful day of tourism promotion at the Mexican Consulate in Atlanta. The event, organized to announce the new air connection between Atlanta and Manzanillo, included a press conference with the main Spanish-speaking media in Georgia, highlighting the participation of Telemundo and Univisión.

The Undersecretary of Tourism, Jorge Padilla, offered interviews to several of the media present, highlighting the tourist benefits of the state of Colima and its main attractions. During the afternoon, more than 50 travel agents from Atlanta participated in a presentation of the destination, where they were given a visual tour of the main tourist gems of the state, such as the beaches of Manzanillo, the Salinas, the Magical Town of Comala, the Magical Neighborhood of Colima and the majestic Volcano of Fire.

Atlanta, being one of the most important air hubs in the world, opens new opportunities to strengthen Colima’s international connectivity, facilitating the arrival of tourists from various regions of the United States and the world. This strategic connection underlines the importance of the flight for the tourism and economic development of the region.

This promotional initiative was accompanied by sales executives from the Las Hadas and Barceló Karmina hotels, who highlighted the state government’s efforts in managing this flight, a key connection for their industry. Undersecretary Padilla also expressed his gratitude to the Consul General of Mexico in Atlanta, Javier Díaz de León, for the facilities provided.

Both actions were attended by executives from Aeroméxico and Delta Airlines. The Atlanta-Manzanillo flight will begin operations on November 2, with a weekly frequency during the winter season, which represents a significant opportunity to strengthen tourism in the state of Colima.
