Gerardo Manuel Aguilar Rueda is a teacher from Durango who won the 2024 Science Cup and has earned an accreditation to represent Mexico in a Research Network.
He works as a teacher at CBTIS 89 in the capital city. This school is part of the General Directorate of Industrial Technological Education (DGETI), which organizes events where prototypes are exhibited and where students and teachers participate with innovative ideas and projects.
A life dedicated to innovation and teaching
He has participated in these events for eight years, and previously he had managed to reach the national stage, however, he had not been a winner. This 2024 he participated as a teacher in the entrepreneurs and prototypes research project category, with an educational platform called MQ Academic, which has technology and has become a support for teachers and students.
With this project, he managed to reach the national stage, which took place in Veracruz, and although he did not win, he did obtain accreditation for the 2024 Science Cup in Sinaloa.
People who seek to promote ideas in science and technology participate in this cup, achieving first place in the Science and Engineering category.
The platform https://mqtecnologias.com/mqacademico/ emerged eight years ago, as an idea that addresses the need that teachers have to give students the best learning. When classes, professional modules and courses began, it was successful and the positive results were growing, since it has artificial intelligence that allows answering young people’s questions.
In addition, debate forums are included that have allowed students to express their ideas and doubts.
After winning the 2024 Science Cup, Professor Gerardo Aguilar will travel to Paraguay in 2025 to be part of a Network of Researchers and Research Seedbeds, representing not only Durango, but the entire country.
The teacher highlighted the support he has received from the director of CBTIS 89, Laura Becerra, who said she promotes research and development of projects and prototypes of entrepreneurs from students and teachers
