Governor Esteban announces the start of road repairs

Connectivity on highways brings us closer to development with more options for a better economy, in addition to public services, health and greater security, said Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal, celebrating the Day of the Road Worker together with the workers who are dedicated to building and maintaining the state’s highways.

The State Executive took the opportunity to congratulate them and announce that, after a virtual talk with the head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation of the Federation (SICT), the repair of state highways will begin and, above all, the main idea is that the construction works are carried out by Durango companies.

At this event, Francisco Salazar Mendía, president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) in Durango, recognized the Governor’s close work with the builders, who, in addition to being a great ally of his union, looks out for the well-being of all, “the investments are bearing fruit, we are witnesses of that effort and now we are ready to continue fighting and work together on more projects.”

He also congratulated the more than 500 construction professionals from different areas, including those who are closely associated with the CMIC, the Secretariat of Communications and Public Works (Secope) and the SICT, all working in the same team in the creation and maintenance of roads, essential for all commercial activities.

The capital’s mayor, Toño Ochoa Rodríguez, joined this celebration, who also highlighted the effort and dedication of the road workers, how each kilometer is a faithful testimony of their effort, for which he also assured that he will work in a single team united to build a prosperous Durango.

During this celebration, the State Governor, together with the president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry, Francisco Salazar Mendía, and the Secretary of Communications and Public Works (Secope), Ana Rosa Hernández Rentería, presented awards to the road workers with the longest career, and then enjoyed a well-deserved celebration.
