Almare is the Luxury Collection’s first all-inclusive property in Mexico.
Isla Mujeres, a picturesque five-mile-long island just a short boat ride from Cancun, Mexico, offers a relaxed alternative to the bustling resort city. Known for its white-sand beaches, excellent restaurants, and emerging luxury hotel scene, the island now hosts the Luxury Collection’s first all-inclusive Mexican resort.
Almare, a Luxury Collection All-Inclusive Resort, is an adults-only property featuring unobstructed ocean views, 109 suites, a spa, a beach club, and six dining venues.
“Isla Mujeres is a hidden gem of the Caribbean, and Almare perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this unique destination. Our guests can expect an unparalleled experience that seamlessly blends the natural beauty of the island with refined luxury and exceptional service,” said Philipp Weghmann, vice president and global brand leader of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, in a press release shared with Travel + Leisure.
Guests arrive at the resort after a 20-minute boat ride on the property’s private vessel and check into spacious accommodations adorned with natural woods and high-end finishes inspired by Isla Mujeres’ landscape. Each suite features a private balcony, ample lounge space, plush king-size beds, and soaking bathtubs.
The culinary program, led by executive chef Daniel Franco, offers diverse settings and cuisines, including a coffee shop, a food truck, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views, and a poolside bar.
Boga, a breakfast and dinner restaurant, combines authentic Mexican and Mayan flavors using local ingredients. Seasalt, an elevated rooftop dining concept, blends Mexican and European influences and offers 360-degree ocean views.
“Almare is not just a resort; it’s a celebration of Isla Mujeres’ rich culture and natural beauty,” said Enrique Solari, the general manager of Almare. “Our team has crafted every aspect of the guest experience to reflect the island’s charm and allure, from our curated dining offerings to the immersive activities and sustainable practices that are at the heart of our operations.”
During the day, guests can enjoy water activities such as snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayak tours. In the evening, they can relax with nightly performances. As part of the Luxury Collection, the resort also offers signature experiences like private yacht charters, fishing excursions, and cooking and mixology classes.
The resort’s spa is a haven for wellness enthusiasts, nestled among lush vegetation and swaying palm trees. Guests can book face and body treatments and take advantage of top-notch facilities, including a sauna, hydrotherapy pools, and a salt room. Additionally, all guests have access to a stunning oceanfront pool and two hot tubs.
