San Miguel de Allende will not only experience the traditional Day of the Dead in November with the essence that characterizes the city, it will also have a series of magical nights with live music as part of The City of Jazz festival, from November 14 to 17, in which prominent artists of that genre will perform free of charge, such as the local band San Miguel Jazz Alliance, the singers Concha Buika and Lucía Gutiérrez, as well as the groups Gipsy Kings and Big Band Jazz.

“Saturday (November 16) is our strongest day, we are very excited to be able to share with the Gipsy Kings, they will be present. The lineup is extremely attractive, but the most attractive thing is that it is a totally free event, we will have it in the Main Garden, from Thursday to Sunday, from 8 at night,” said Tania Castillo, head of Municipal Tourism and Economic Development.

“All these activities are designed for local residents, so they are completely free, because that allows for a great deal of exposure and it is even something different to do: leaving their homes to see this type of concert that maybe in other cities have a cost or they have more difficulties to attend, but here, with everyone open, it is something wonderful,” she added.

Castillo highlighted that the third edition of The City of Jazz will bring together families, couples and tourists who will merge with the chords of this musical genre, which will be played by world masters, which will confirm San Miguel as the cosmopolitan city par excellence in Mexico.

“That is what makes it very peculiar, it is an event in which we really attract all the people, to say that San Miguel is music, it is culture, it is art. San Miguel is not talked about, San Miguel is lived and this is a type of experience that makes San Miguel de Allende different and unique,” said the official.

Tania Castillo explained that by consolidating San Miguel de Allende as a cultural epicenter accessible to all, this city, a World Heritage Site, “is being an ambassador of Guanajuato to Mexico and the world, because we do things well.”
