This was the arrest that the Nuevo Imperio Cartel carried out in CDMX and Edomex

The Nuevo Imperio Cartel is a split from the Sinaloa Cartel that operates in the Valley of Mexico, but in recent months it has been affected by the actions of the capital and State of Mexico authorities.

On October 24, Mexican ministerial authorities reported that Cheyla Ruth “N”, known as “La Reina del Sur”, and Jesús Armando “N”, alias “El Pelón”, were arrested by agents of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM).

Both are investigated for their alleged participation in the murder of a man that occurred on July 13 in a tire shop in the El Potrero neighborhood.

The capture of these individuals took place in the municipality of Tlalnepantla, where they operated. Both detainees are considered generators of violence in the municipalities of Tlalnepantla and Atizapán.

Investigations have revealed that Cheyla Ruth “N” led a criminal cell independent of the Nuevo Imperio Cartel, dedicated to high-impact crimes such as homicide and, presumably, drug trafficking. For his part, Jesús Armando “N” would be involved in the commission of homicides within this criminal group.

According to sources from the Edomex Prosecutor’s Office, the Nuevo Imperio Cartel has fractured and small cells have been created that seek to maintain control of their areas of operation.

Sources revealed to this publishing house that the New Empire Cartel, the organization accused of the murder of Milton Morales Figueroa, general coordinator of the Tactical Strategy and Special Operations Unit of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of CDMX, has been weakened by the capture of its leader Néstor Arturo López Arellano, alias El 20.

Néstor Arturo N, for whom the Edomex Prosecutor’s Office was offering a reward of up to 300 thousand pesos for his capture, was arrested on July 24 in a restaurant in the Polanco neighborhood, in Mexico City.

The New Empire established alliances with other criminal groups such as the CJNG and the Tepito Union, according to official reports, although in June 2021, a group of alleged hitmen from the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) announced their arrival in the municipality of Naucalpan to “clean up” and accused members of the police of being in collusion with El 20.

According to the capital authorities, the murder of Commander Milton on July 21 could have been revenge against the SSC-CDMX official for operations against the Nuevo Imperio Cartel.
