Wooden Structure Collapses on Tourist Resting by a Pool at Barceló Hotel in the Riviera Maya

This Sunday morning, the Barceló Hotel, located about 30 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen, was the scene of an incident that left everyone present in shock.

Around 8:30 a.m., a large wooden structure fell on a tourist who was resting on lounge chairs by the pool.

The incident was captured on video and quickly spread through social media, showing the exact moment the structure collapsed on the guest.

The immediate reaction of other tourists and hotel staff was crucial. Without hesitation, they rushed to lift the heavy wood and free the affected person.

The situation led to the activation of a Civil Protection ambulance, which arrived to provide medical assistance to the injured person, who was immediately taken to the hospital.

Additionally, municipal inspectors from Solidaridad arrived at the hotel to investigate the causes of the accident and determine the protocols to follow.

So far, it has not been reported whether there will be sanctions for the hotel, as being an exclusive place, only the authorities have access to conduct the relevant investigations.
