The M/S Sun Princess, part of the Princess Cruise Line, made its inaugural visit to Cozumel fueled entirely by liquefied natural gas (LNG). This eco-friendly approach significantly reduces polluting emissions and minimizes marine diesel consumption.
Measuring 345 meters in length and boasting a gross weight of 177,888 tons, the Sun Princess is one of the largest vessels in its class. It features 21 decks and can accommodate up to 4,300 passengers across its 2,150 cabins.
The introduction of sustainable energy on board the M/S Sun Princess exemplifies the cruise industry’s dedication to environmental stewardship. Meanwhile, Cozumel port has established itself as a pioneer in integrating sustainable practices into tourism, demonstrating that economic growth and environmental care can harmoniously coexist within the tourism sector.
