National Guard addresses alleged abuses by elements of the corporation in Cancun

In response to allegations of abuse by National Guard personnel in the area surrounding Cancun International Airport, more than 50 platform operators met with commanders of the National Guard and State Police at Tajamar boardwalk. The meeting was organized by the Cancun Drivers Alliance, which reported that its members had been subjected to fabricated fines based on unsubstantiated claims.

According to reports, a large-scale operation had been deployed to prevent the departure of alliance members, but it ceased once authorities arrived. At the meeting, platform operators expressed concern over the abuses and requested an examination of National Guard actions at the airport. They argued that unjustified fines negatively impact their work and advocate for fairer and more transparent treatment from authorities.

Critics within the Cancun Drivers Alliance accused the authorities of attempting to conceal the issue. They emphasized the need for a solution that respects their rights and ensures the correct application of the law.
