Tulum: Mexico’s Golf Capital on the Rise

With its recent recognition as one of the top beach destinations in Mexico and Central America by the World Travel Awards, Tulum continues to solidify its position as a premier vacation spot. Moreover, it has earned a reputation for being an ideal location for various sports, particularly golf.

Tulum boasts one of the country’s most impressive golf courses: the PGA Riviera Maya. This 18-hole, par-72 course is nestled in a stunning natural setting surrounded by lakes, cenotes, and breathtaking landscapes. Its unique design has made it a standout gem in Mexican golf.

As part of the PGA of Latin America, the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club has hosted national and international tournaments. In celebration of National Golf Day, the club collaborated with the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum and Visit Tulum to organize a series of family-friendly activities. These events were led by specialists from the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club, based at Tulum Country Club, a striking residential development in Quintana Roo.

Sergio González, Deputy Director of Golf at PGA Riviera Maya, shared his thoughts on this initiative:

“Having a world-class airport in Tulum allows us to offer an exceptional golf experience. This convenient access attracts players from the United States, Mexico, and beyond, making Tulum a leading destination in sports tourism.”

This celebration not only promotes golf but also contributes positively to the local economy and tourism in the Riviera Maya, providing a healthy and entertaining experience for all involved.
