The Nichupté Bridge, currently under construction in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, will become not only the longest bridge in the country but also the second longest in Latin America once completed. Spanning 8.8 kilometers over the famous Nichupté Lagoon, this mobility megaproject aims to unite the city center with the Hotel Zone, easing transportation for both locals and tourists.
The construction of the Nichupté Bridge addresses the issue of traffic congestion in the area, particularly during peak hours. To achieve this, the bridge will feature one lane in each direction, a reversible lane, and a dedicated bicycle path. With an estimated cost of over 7 billion pesos, the project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025.
Upon completion, the Nichupté Bridge will not only enhance mobility but also contribute to the development of Cancun’s infrastructure.
