Dance teacher in Merida, on trial for child abuse and pornography

Continuing with the initial hearing, dance teacher Juan Carlos T. R. was linked to trial for the crimes of aggravated sexual abuse and child pornography, committed against his students.

On the morning of Thursday, October 31, before the initial hearing began, the minors’ guardians called on the judge to analyze all the evidence provided by the Prosecutor’s Office and take into consideration the gender perspective so that the criminal process against Juan Carlos can continue.

Finally, the judge in charge of the hearing, after listening to the debate between the Prosecutor’s Office and the defense, issued the order of linking to trial, so the dance teacher and owner of the school “TDS Tenorio Dance Studio” will remain in prison.

The judge also granted three months as a deadline for the closing of the complementary investigation.

As for the precautionary measures, the suspect will remain in preventive detention.

There is enough evidence to not release the dance teacher, say guardians of alleged victims

There are at least six investigation files against him.

Last February the dance instructor was arrested and released in a similar hearing.

However, they clarified in the Judiciary, the resolution appealed and consequently revoked by the Second Collegiate Criminal and Civil Chamber of the Judiciary of Yucatan that ordered the judge to continue with the initial hearing for the link to the process, reason for which he was re-arrested
