The first flight from Edmonton, Canada, arrives in Mazatlán

The reactivation of flights from Canada for the winter season continues, as this Friday the airline Sunwing began operations from Edmonton.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism of Sinaloa, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, said that the winter season started well, as the flights arrive with average cabin occupancy levels of 95 percent.

He explained that the flight from Edmonton, Canada, arrived at 11:45 a.m. with 178 passengers, who were received by directors of the Sectur and the port administration of OMA.

“Our Canadian friends had a warm reception, with the joy that characterizes the Mazatlan people, showing them something of our culture and tradition,” he said.

Velarde Cárdenas added that this afternoon two more international flights will arrive at the Rafael Buelna International Airport, one from Vancouver and another from Calgary, both from Sunwing.

He stressed that this is the result of promotional work with airlines to increase air connectivity to Sinaloa.

The state official pointed out the importance of this magnificent news, since it is a sign of the confidence that is placed in our state for the scheduling of the air routes that are scheduled to Mazatlán.
