With the objective of training women who live in rural areas to learn a trade, a manual activity or even start a business that serves as a source of income to support their homes, personnel from the Department of Evaluation and Rural Liaison of the municipality will work on this matter.
Jesús Osuna Lamarque, head of the department, said that as a priority and instruction from Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez, they will work with the Municipal Institute for Women to bring talks and practical workshops to the last corner and community of the rural area so that women in the countryside can start a business and learn a trade that serves as a source of income.
“There are instructions so that, through the Institute for Women, there can be programs in rural communities, to give talks, courses to women so that they can start a business, learn some crafts, some trade, so there is already a lot of work to do.”
Osuna Lamarque specified that the courses and talks will be held in a staggered manner to train the greatest number of women from the different rural populations of Mazatlán, both in the northern and southern parts of the municipality.
“It will begin with the municipal governments and then with the largest police stations. It will go in a step-by-step manner, first municipal governments, then larger communities, until reaching the last corner, down to the smallest.”
The director of Evaluation and Rural Liaison added that this training will mean support that will benefit hundreds of families, since it will be a source of employment for women and their families.
