On Saturday morning, a new attack with explosive devices dropped from a small plane was reported in Durango, but this time in Tamazula, a municipality on the border with the state of Sinaloa.
Videos of the aircraft flying over the region and dropping the bombs in the mountainous area were shared on social media. Images of at least three columns of smoke produced by the explosions were also spread.
Residents of El Carrizal said that the explosions occurred between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning. So far, there is no detailed information about the incident and no injuries or deaths have been reported.
Local media reports that the attack targeted a ranch owned by a former operator of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in the Sinaloa Cartel, Adelmo Niebla González, known by the aliases “El Memo,” “El Señor,” and “G3,” for whom the United States government has offered a $5 million reward since 2017.
It should be remembered that on Monday, residents of Vascogil, Durango, reported that a small plane flew over the region and dropped at least four bombs near the town, also known as Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada’s territory.
State authorities confirmed that federal security forces took charge of the investigation, but no details have been given so far about injured people and damage to property
A photo taken from a distance in the town of Vascogil was posted on social media, showing at least three columns of smoke. Meanwhile, in statements by a man to a local media outlet, he claims that the explosive devices were dropped from the air by a small plane; he asks that the attacks be stopped due to the fear that it generated in the families.
This report comes amid the wave of violence in the neighboring state of Sinaloa and the area of operations of the cartel founded by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, who three months ago was arrested in El Paso, Texas, after getting off a plane in which he traveled accompanied by Joaquín Guzmán López, one of the leaders of the Los Chapitos faction.
