For the second consecutive year, Tulum will host another edition of the Half Marathon, which for the first time will have national and international recognition under the direction of AsDeporte. The event will start at 6:00 am on December 1st.
The half marathon also includes competitions in the 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer categories, as well as a 3-kilometer recreational walk for families. This way, everyone can participate, regardless of age or sex.
The mayor of Tulum, Diego Castañón Trejo, invites all runners from the state and the Mexican southeast to join in the competition and enjoy sports and nature. Running on the beach is considered an excellent opportunity for promoting sports tourism through the Youth and Sports Directorate headed by Rodrigo López.
The marathon will have different categories: Free (for athletes aged 15-29), Sub Master (30-39 years old), Master (40-49 years old), Veterans (50-59 years old), Master Plus (60 years and above). The event is also inclusive for wheelchair racers aged 18 and over.
The Tulum City Council and AsDeporte hope that both professional and amateur athletes will join the challenge of the Tulum Half Marathon, highlighting the importance of sports as a fundamental element for the health and integration of the population. They aim to project the beauty of Tulum as a tourist and sports destination par excellence.
