In separate incidents, two tourists of European origin drowned on different beaches in the tourist destinations of Huatulco and Puerto Escondido in the region of the Oaxaca Coast.
The first case took place on Tuesday night near La Bocana Beach in the jurisdiction of Santa María Huatulco.
This is a foreign tourist from the Czech Republic, identified as Miroslav Silar, 78 years old, who drowned after being swept away by the current of the waves of the sea.
According to information gathered, the surfer visitor was found unconscious by his group of friends, who tried to revive him with the CPR technique, but he no longer had vital signs.
The second incident occurred this Wednesday at Playa Los Naranjos near the destination of Puerto Escondido, a 23-year-old tourist of French origin was swept away by the current of the waves out to sea.
Lifeguards stationed in Puerto Escondido arrived at the scene, but at first they were unable to locate the man’s body, so they began searching the area.
An hour later, they found his body between the beaches of Palma Sola and Los Naranjos.
Witnesses indicated that the tourist had gone swimming on the open sea beach and that he was staying in a rental residence on the internet.
Elements of the security corporations, as well as personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca, went to the scene and carried out the corresponding procedures.
