The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in collaboration with the Faculty of Higher Studies Acatlán (FES Acatlán), has launched a call for all those interested in learning a new language. The free online courses, which cover English, French and Italian, are presented as an excellent alternative for those who wish to improve their language skills from the comfort of their homes.
The online courses offer great flexibility in schedules, eliminating geographical barriers and allowing students to organize their study time according to their needs. The learning platform has been developed by CUAIEED (Coordination of Open University, Educational Innovation and Distance Education) and is within the Virtual Language Environment (AVI) of UNAM.
Each course is designed for participants to acquire the four fundamental skills of a language: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The levels of the courses range from A1 to B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Those interested will be able to access four main options within each course. The “Practice” and “Evaluate Yourself” options are available to the general public for free. On the other hand, the “Learn” and “Get Certified” options are aimed exclusively at students of UNAM schools and faculties.
The Virtual Language Environment (AVI) also provides tools to improve the understanding of texts in the selected language and resources to evaluate the individual progress of students.
Online courses offer an excellent opportunity to take advantage of free time and enrich oneself by learning a new language in an intelligent and accessible way, thanks to UNAM. Those interested in registering can access the portal through the link provided.
