Researchers from the Centro Universitario de la Costa, as well as from the Citizen Observatory of the Historic Center of Puerto Vallarta, together with the Municipal Government, seek to promote a Cultural Heritage Information Center, in order to promote research and protect the cultural assets of the city.
Therefore, those who are part of this project recently met with Professor Guadalupe Basulto, head of the Vallarta Institute of Culture, to begin with its design and present it soon to the governing board of the institute and the people of Vallarta.
On behalf of the Centro Universitario de la Costa, Professor Paola Cortés, head of the Department of Arts, Education and Humanities, recognized the support they have had from the municipal president, Luis Munguía, to give greater importance to the cultural issue in the city and thus consolidate the municipal culture program 2024-2027.
For this reason, this Cultural Heritage Information Center is the basis for various actions such as historical anthropological research and development of Puerto Vallarta, as well as the creation of a digital platform to inform citizens about the state of the municipality’s cultural heritage, in addition to the protection of cultural assets, both movable and immovable, among others.
