Oscar Pérez Martínez, municipal president of Amealco, announced that the 12th edition of the Amealco 2024 National Festival of Artisanal Dolls will take place from November 15 to 18.

The mayor of Amealco said that an influx of 14 thousand visitors is expected during these days, which will leave an economic impact of between 7 and 8 million pesos for the families of this demarcation and it is a showcase in which cultural wealth is promoted and at the same time boosts the local economy.

He noted that the winners of the various categories will take home a prize of 25 thousand pesos.

“Amealco is everyone’s home, we have had a lot of tourists visit us on Saturday and Sunday, today we want to invite the whole world to the 12th edition of the doll festival. Amealco will always welcome you with great affection and we are taking security measures, we will have the presence of municipal public security and neighboring municipalities, POES, Sedena, and the National Guard.”

For her part, Gabriela Prieto, highlighted the commitment of the Casa Queretana de las Artesanías to support and give visibility to artisans, ensuring that the event will be a platform for artisan dolls, a symbol of the region’s cultural heritage, to reach a wider audience.

They also highlighted that the artistic events will be completely free, where Grupo Liberación, Majo Aguilar, los Plebes del Rancho, and Guillermo Velázquez will perform, in addition to the fact that there will be artisan stands.
