How will the Mexico-Querétaro train connect with Metro and Metrobús CDMX?
The Mexico-Querétaro Train will have several key connections between both states. Just at the Buenavista terminal, this train will have intermodal connections with the Metro CDMX and the Metrobús at the following points:
- Metro CDMX Line B
- Metrobús CDMX Lines 1, 3 and 4
With this, citizens will be able to move easily between these transports. It is worth mentioning that the construction of the Mexico-Querétaro Train will start in April 2025 and the works are expected to finish in 2028 or at the latest in 2029.
Stations that the Mexico-Querétaro Train will have
This train that will connect Mexico City with Querétaro will have three key stations that will help facilitate the journey, which are:
- Buenavista in Mexico City.
- San Juan del Río in Querétaro.
- Santiago de Querétaro, which will be the terminal station in Querétaro.
In addition to these stations, it is expected that stops will be built in intermediate towns, but at the moment there are no details of how many there would be or where they will be.
How long will the complete journey of the Mexico-Querétaro Train take?
According to estimates, the complete journey of the Mexico-Querétaro Train will last 1 hour and 40 minutes in total. This means that travel time will be reduced, taking into account that a car trip can take about 3 hours without traffic.
This train will reach speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. It will travel up to 225 kilometers between both cities, which will save more than an hour of travel time for the almost 30 thousand inhabitants who make this trip daily.
At the moment, neither the authorities of Mexico City nor Querétaro have announced what the price of a single trip on this train will be, but it is expected that they will provide more details when the date on which construction will begin approaches.
