International Mango Congress in Mexico
During the first day of the Congress, several panels will be held. The first one will be called “Innovation in Mango Cultivation”, and will feature great experts such as Dr. Víctor Galán – Ph.D in Plant Biology graduated from the University of California, Davis, USA, (Spain), Dr. Ítalo Cavalcante, Ph.D – in Plant Production, Associate Professor at the Federal University of the Valley of São Francisco (Brazil), and Dr. Iñaki Hormaza, Ph.D, Research Professor at the IHSM La Mayora in Malaga. This panel will be moderated by Dr. Ping Lu, Ph.D, President of the Mango Working Group of the International Society of Horticultural Sciences (ISHS, Australia).

On the other hand, there will be a second panel entitled Consumption Trends, moderated by Mr. Ramón Ojeda – Executive Director of the National Mango Board (USA). The event will feature the latest consumer trends and how social media is transforming mango promotion, as well as strategies to increase mango consumption globally.

Next, there will be a third panel called Economy and Sustainable Development, in which Marion Avril – Director of Sustainability and Social Innovation at Driscoll’s, and President of Ahifores (Mexico) and Patricia Toledo – Vice President of Sustainability and Social Responsibility of the National Agricultural Council (Mexico) will participate. This panel will analyze the economic impact of mango cultivation and discover how fair trade and sustainability practices can benefit local communities and the environment.

Afterwards, a third panel will be held, entitled “Transforming and Strengthening the Industry”, in which the following panelists will participate: Allison Beadle – Founder and Executive Director of Wild Hive (US), Adriana Corona – Communicator, Writer, Entrepreneur: Creator of Simplemente Adriana (Mexico) and Monica Hernandez – Strategist in human communication and leadership, management, operation and sales (Mexico).

Second Day of Congress
On the second day of this Congress, The event will open with a panel dedicated to Marketing and Export Strategies, in which Rubén Ramírez – General Director in Mexico of the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA, Mexico), Esther Tiey Shi Ying – DIMUTO, a graduate specializing in Marketing and Entrepreneurship in Innovation (Asia), Ron Lemaire – President of the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA, Canada), Rafael Salas – Forbes Young Leader in Technology and Innovation (Mexico) and Carin Verbree – Executive Director of Holland House Mexico (Netherlands) will participate. In this panel, you will learn from marketing and export leaders about how to conquer emerging markets, develop effective marketing strategies and explore new sales opportunities in the world.

In addition, there will be a second panel called “Agribusiness and Added Value”, which will feature Lic. Francisco Seva – International Agrifood Journalist (Spain), Cristina Villalpando – Tequila Regulatory Council (Mexico), Hiram Ibarra – Director Austar Latin America (Mexico), Luis Taube (Alta Group) and Dr. Noris Ledesma (USA). The panel will explore how to transform mango into high added value products. Success stories will be presented and we will learn about innovation in mango processing.

Supply and Logistics

Then, an interesting panel entitled “Supply Chains and Logistics” will be held, with the participation of personalities such as Claudia Villarruel – General Director of Foreign Trade of the State of Jalisco (Mexico), Federico Lepe – President of the International Logistics Commission of the Council of Industrial Chambers of Jalisco (Mexico), Emmanuel Salinas – Director of Operations of the GWTC Group (Mexico) and Antonio García – Director of the Perishables Mexico vertical for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (Mexico)

In it, attendees will improve their knowledge of the mango supply chain and logistics, as well as learn about the latest innovations in transportation and packaging that guarantee the freshness of the mango.

Policies and Regulations in Agrifood Safety

And to conclude the second day, the topic of “Policies and Regulations in Food Safety” will be addressed. Participating in the panel will be Georgina Félix – Director of Operations and International Affairs of the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA, USA), Mauricio Castelo – Expert in the Safety of Fresh Agricultural Products in the Safety Division of Fresh Agricultural Products, of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA, USA), Luis Ignacio Sánchez Córdova – Member of the Alliance for Food Safety, (SENASICA-FDA-COFEPRIS, Mexico) and Noemi Zuñiga Thimeos – Senior Consultant in Food Safety for the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA, Chile). In this panel, the policies and regulations that affect the mango industry will be known and the certifications and regulations necessary for international export will be learned.

During this IV International Mango Congress of Mexico, the Second Edition of the International Mango Ambassador Awards will also be held, and will culminate with the celebration of a Mexican Night, for the coexistence of the different members of the mango industry, who will participate in this great event that will take place in the capital of Jalisco.
