The Attorney General of Quintana Roo confirmed the arrest of officers Saúl Vladimir “N” and Alfredo “N” for their alleged involvement in crimes of sexual abuse and concealment against a Colombian woman. The assault occurred on October 12 on the streets of Supermanzana 63 in Cancún.
Arrest Details
Municipal President of Cancún, Ana Patricia Peralta, reported that the two officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit were arrested last night following an arrest warrant. The victim’s identity remains confidential.
“All investigations were conducted, the Attorney General’s Office was informed, and today we have results. Citizen complaints work, and we act immediately when they reach us,” Peralta emphasized. She added, “I will not allow the rights or physical integrity of any citizen to be violated at any time.”
Peralta stressed that this arrest sends a clear message to the police force about the consequences of illegal acts and encourages citizens to report inappropriate behavior, abuse of authority, and corruption.
“It is not fair that some elements generate a bad perception of our corporation. We will not tolerate this and will cooperate fully with the Prosecutor’s Office for the investigation,” she stated.
Incident Description
The Attorney General of Quintana Roo (FGE) confirmed the arrest through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Sexual Crimes and the Free Development of Personality. The assault occurred when the officers put the victim in a patrol car, claiming she had committed illegal acts. They then took her to an unknown location, where Saúl Vladimir “N” allegedly sexually abused her under the pretext of a routine inspection, promising to help her get out of jail. Alfredo “N” allegedly acted as an accomplice.
Legal Proceedings
After compiling the investigation file, the FGE requested and obtained an arrest warrant from a Control Judge, which was executed yesterday. The two officers are now at the disposal of the judicial authority to determine their legal situation.
